Housing Programs
CAHRA provides a dynamic home repair program that concentrates on:
- Weatherizing homes to maximize the efficient use of electricity and gas for heating and cooling. The Program has a primary mission of reducing the fuel or electricity expense while improving living conditions in the home.
- Providing limited income homeowners experiencing a crisis, with minor repairs to existing electrical, gas, water and plumbing systems.
- Repair or replacing major appliances, i.e. ranges, refrigerators and water heaters.
- Installing adaptive aids to insure the safety of the elderly and persons with disabilities.
The program focuses on educating clients on the importance of keeping up with maintenance to extend the life of the structure and insure the continuing affordability of the home.
